Well, That Didn't Last Too Long
Tumblr served a purpose for me that made me not want to publish content on this blog any longer. I deleted my twitter account and focused all my rambling thoughts over on my tumblr page. When it worked, it was great. Their UI is impressive and inspiring. It promotes content creation of any kind. Be it 140 character blurbs, random internet imagery, political or otherwise humorous videos ... or even full-on blog posts where I bear my soul. I could do it all.
Except reliably get a page to load.
So I am saying goodbye to tumblr and have redesigned this blog a bit to have a more tumble like feel to it. I searched around for tumblelog software (PHP-based) but found very little that impressed me. Sure I could've coerced wordpress into fulfilling my needs but lets face it, wordpress is significantly more complicated than a basic tumblelog. Little did I know the answer was right under my nose the whole time. That's right, the very software I was running my blog on already, Chyrp, cannot possibly be a more suitable solution for those seeking a PHP-based tumblelog software.
It is well-written, extremely flexible, includes its own simple template language, easy to extend, and has a fucking cool as hell website to boot.
So yes, in August I said "Nobody is home" and then a mere 2 months later I am back. Perhaps by Christmas I will write another "so long suckers" post.
